Drilling fluids
Starches
Used in reservoir drilling fluids, completion fluids, brine systems and drilling muds to control fluid loss in water based muds by increasing viscosity.
Sodium bisulphite
Corrosion controller, removing dissolved O2, accelerates sequestering properties
Sodium carbonate (soda ash)
Used to treat free calcium contamination in fluids, precipitates soluble calcium.
Foaming agent
Additive used in preparation of foam used in fluids, non-ionic surfactants containing polymeric materials, helps withstand high levels of salinity, hardness, solids, entrained oil and high temperatures.
Glycols
Used as an antifreeze, can be used as a gas hydrate inhibitor.
Monoethanolamine
Adjusts the pH of other compounds, improves viscosity, foaming, stabilisation and emulsification
PAC R (Solid and liquid)
Filtrate reducing agent, used when viscosity increases and low filtration are desired.
Filtration reducers
Reduces the filtration rate of fluids without causing significant increases in viscosity, controls water loss.
Bentonite
Provide viscosity, suspension, filtration control and excellent sealing of water-based systems
Calcium carbonate
Used as a sealing agent in drilling, workover and completion fluids to positively seal permeable zones.
Detergent
Additive intended to prevent formation shales and clays from sticking to the drilling assembly, prevent coarse shale agglomeration.
Xanthan gum solid and liquid
High purity biopolymer, transports and suspends solids, reduces friction and improves displacement efficiency.
Lignites
Control additive, effective alternative in oil and synthetic based drilling fluids, compatible with other additives.
PAC LV (Solid and Liquid)
Functions as a filtrate-reducing agent for water-based fluids, designed for use when minimal viscosity increases and low filtrate are desired.
Quaternary polyamine
Controls and removes scale, protects aqueous systems from corrosion.
Caustic soda
Used for Ph and alkalinity control in water based systems, minimises solubility of Ca and Mg contaminants in fluids.
WELL STIMULATION
Hydrochloric acid
Main high strength acid used in acidising procedure in Carbonate Formations Background temperatures below 120 C.
Formic Acid
Acid used in carbonate formations with background temperatures greater than 150C.
Xylene
Functions as an aromatic base fluid in organic systems.
Chelating Agent
Acidification solution to dissolve iron oxide deposits.
Reducing Agent/Asphaltic Antifoulant/Fe Inhibitor
Intermediate acid between hydrochloric acid and acetic acid for high temperature.
Mutual Solvent
To remove heavy hydrocarbon deposits and break emulsions.
Stabilising Agent/Fe Controller/Asphaltic Anti-Sludge
Normally used as a corrosion control additive when hydrochloric acid is used.
Acetic Acid
A delayed acid used in carbonate formations with background temperatures of 120 to 150 C.
Hydrofluoric Acid
Helps work with HCL to dissolve silica and formation in sands.
Diverting and Reducing Material
Glass added to the fluid system as a diverter. Plug shots forcing others to fluid intake.
Corrosion Inhibitor
An additive to the acidizing process to protect steel components in the wellbore.
Fe Controller
Added to acidizing to dissolve rust and iron deposits or to control the concentration of dissolved iron in the acidizing process.
Solvents
Used as a treatment for formations with asphaltenes, with HCL.
Hydration suppressant or inhibitor of hydrates in the production line.
Used as a treatment for wells with asphaltenes.
